This is not about pretending the past never happened. It is about what we learned from it, the people who stayed through it, and why we decided to build something of our own.
Before Jaycat, there was Why Not Us. It brought a group of people together around something we genuinely believed could become bigger. People put in money, time, energy, trust, and attention. For a while, it felt like we had found something worth fighting for.
Why Not Us fell apart and people lost money. Instead of immediately walking away, we tried to bring it back. We promoted it, made content, organized the community, and streamed for hours at a time — including multiple 16-hour sessions — trying to give the project another chance.
That changed how we looked at meme coins. The question stopped being only “how high can this go?” and became “what can make this fail, and what warning signs are we missing?”
While we were still trying to rebuild, my account was compromised and more of what I had put into the project disappeared. It hit at a point when momentum was already fragile. People left. People doubted the project. The chart kept getting worse.
Through the losses, streams, setbacks, and doubt, a group of real people kept showing up. That became more important than the token that originally brought everyone together.
Why Not Us may have been the reason the community met. It did not have to be the end of the community’s story.
Instead of spending forever trying to rebuild a project that was never truly ours, we decided to take what we learned and build something of our own. That is where Jaycat came from.
Jaycat represents what came after the rug, the losses, the compromised account, the long streams, the pressure, and the lessons.
We learned how quickly hype can disappear. We learned why wallet behavior, liquidity, holder distribution, account security, and transparency matter. We learned that a market cap means very little without real people behind it.
And we learned that being honest about risk is more important than pretending every setback can be avoided.
Jaycat is not a promise that everything will go perfectly. It is a new chapter built around a real history: people who were there, mistakes that taught us something, and a decision to keep going without hiding where we came from.
Different coin. Same people. More experience.
On Friday, September 18 at 8:00 AM PDT, Jaycat begins its own public chapter on Solana. The official contract address will be posted on the main site at launch, and the community can judge what happens next for itself.
Why Not Us brought the community together. Everything afterward tested it. Jaycat is what came out the other side.
